Well,

if you remeber a while back on the ebay section, i made a post called "tempted"

bout the clio with the girl sitting in it, that looked like chuckie, then it got sold etc i was annoyed etc..then i found it again on autotrader, well turns out it was the same one.

so went all the way to surrey, spent ages looking at it driving it (guy goes "id hate to see you buying a 10 grad car" as i was taking my time after all tis my money!)

after ooing and arring, made a deal and got it for £850

mk1 ph1 l plate clio.

81k mot till dec tax till july alloys lowerd new tyres alarm+imob etc.

few niggles with it so far are

no radio. Surprised! but have one thats going in.

clock face isnt there anymore, all you can see is the cogs...god knows what happend to that lol

drivers side passanger window works going up, but not going down.

heater controls bulbs blown,

valves need adjusting (another one)

fogs could do with a clean, but im gonna get yellow ones anywho. i think they were yellow at some time, but water has gotten into em, and there just crappy basically.

tiny dink in bonnet

rear lights were not on correctly, but thats fixed, also fixed is the rear wiper arm, and air filter, as i had a pratically new one on the old clio. pice of piss jobs.

oil filler cap i swaped as well, as the newer one had a leak.

not to mention i have the "old" clio, so i have about 95% parts :p

but the most annoying thing that has cropped up as i drove it today,(and only today it has) was the rev counter being very tempremental. would rev to the highest say 3k, then stay there, untill it revved passed that (say 4k) then it would stay there instead. gave it a tap from the dash, would fall and do the same again, is alrite up to about 2k. prodded around with ignition module, seems to be ok so far, (dont know what one controls the tacho) but like i said, its tempremental.

anywho, enough of that, pics.

from front.

sorry about the sun, ill get a better one in a few. but both of em togeter

and milage

hope pics aint to big.

how much did the guy buy it off e-bay for? Less than that I'm sure.

Its an L plate clio, what 12 years old. You paid £850 for it. You can get a newer laguna, megane, mondeo, vectra, saxo and so on for that cash!

George got his clio with 1 years MOT no tax, 100k 2 years back from a mazda main dealer for 250 (to old for them to sell it was going to auction) it was a 1.4 rt, plip locking leccy windows and so on.

the rev counter will be the dial, the sticker pops out in the heat and causes the needle to stick, the white chammy has that problem.

im not a "ned" or a "chav" if thats what you think.

i like the clio cos there something about it just like, not to mention insurance was cheapest i could get, sportest looking car i could get for the money as well.

you like the 19, for reasons, i like the clio for reasons

and dont start how the 19 is far more superior, untill i can get one, ill tell you what i think.

and thats what i think, not what the specs say.

and besides if i hadent of gottern a clio, i woudent of found this fourm, and you woudent have lovly old me telling you tails of woe, with my cars etc.

im begining to wish i hadent!

hows it sporty? lol

I knwo your not but the majority of clio owners are neds. I owned a clio, but to be fair I did chop it up straight away.

I just think you paid over the odds for it mate, well over the odds. I hope its reliable cos for that cash it would be my only car for 10 years at least!

i said it looks sporty, well sporty ish..

im not here going "yes its the sportys car on earth wow look at is wow its sooooo cool"

im just saying to me, it looks it, if not its a smart looking car then.

and yes, i agree chris, unfortunaily the majority of them are.

wich is a sad case in anyworlds lol

maybe i did pay ott, but from what i had seen, bearing in mind i coudent travle far, it was the best one for that type of money.

besides, you know i dont get good luck. lol

ie finding one like that for £100

but im still happy...skint..but happy :p

God Chris, show some respect. The bloke has just bought a new car....he's chuffed...end off. Respect that.

Nothing wrong with clio's either Wink!

You would never pay that sort of cash for a car, but how many of yours work? That the difference...pay a bit more and get a problem free car!

Nice car, glad your happy with it!! welcome (again!) to the elite retro-clio sector!!

yes my car now works, And I bet in total its problems have added up to far less than any porobs your car has has including the purchase price.

And this blue chamade is also the least reliable car I have had.

The point I'm making is the cars 12 years old and not worth 850, book price is about 500

I have to agree with chris on this.

By all means it's a nice car. But as I said in the tempted post, I wouldn't pay over £450 for it. (by the way, how much did he pay for it on E-bay?)

I understand your situation Roger so don't think I'm having a dig, because I'm not. As I said to you before "If you need transport desperatly then you gota pay what you gota pay" sometimes you can't wait for a bargan.

£850 for a car, a bit of freedom and a made up bloke, who can knock that?

Nice car anyway mate.
