Hi all im Scott from stratford upon avon Warwickshire.

I joind just to get genral tips and some advice on my newly acquired Renault 19 1.9dti rn 95m plate in foesr matalic green..

Was quite suprised to see a strut brace,is this due to loads of flex in the body and renault found it needs this or is it added at factory etc..

Image

I have seen the bonnets gone a few other 19's as well, but not to fused its my runaround daily driver(and the rust when i pushed it through got me another £50 off)
Image

Nice handy towbar!
Image

Loads fo receipts and history etc..

Image

Not all bad for £450 i recon, plus the buger is quite rapid compaird to my old 205 van..

I must add though im affter some sort of standard renault alloys in 15" with some sort of tread on them as these 13"steeles are silly with 75 profile i almost had it sideways on a roundabout at 40mph(but did notice later the tyres wer a bit flat)

And might be tempted to buy a 16v bonet as this one needs replacing but not spending to much on it.

also anyone know much about tuning the TDi's as i though this was just a TD till found the intercooloer! hehe BIG FMI of something i recon.. Laughing

Cheers for any help and advise i get to the post.

the strut brace wasn't fitted to all models. The 19 is as flexy as its direct rivals without the strut brace, the astra and escort etc, with it its tighter though.

take the cooler out chances are its filled with oil clean it out and straighten any bent fins.

all turbo cars - in fact all cars leak some oil into the induction tract.

When theres a turbo, tired 1 way valves and natural 'breathing' of the turbos oil seals helps this process along.

That engine is a standard 1.9 Turbo Diesel, not a DTI, they came along in about 99.
