Hi all, didnt know if this were best place to post this, but im relatively new to renault ownership and just wondered what renault engines could drop into a phase 2 chamade 16valve?

i take it the 2.0 williams engine does, but anything else that wouldnt be too much of a problem?

Laguna 3.0 V6 or is that a bit of a long shot?!

Sorry if this has been covered loads before!!

advice appreciated.

just the williams or megane F7R that will go in without too much effort.

clio 172/182 engine will also go in, but quite a lot more work to do to get it running.

laguna 3.0 V6 has been tried by Gentle Ben, didn't get past the drawing board

The 19, Clio and Megane petrol units all run the same mounts so any engine from those should in theory fit and work.

Of course there's electrics, fuelling, cooling issues to tackle on the bigger engines that haven't been done before!

To be honest the Williams 2.0 engine is your best bet if you can find one cheap enough or don't mind paying close to a grand for one!

V6 hasn't been done but you can't do that because I've already dibsed that idea Razz

Cheers Neal. what more work is needed for the 172/182 to fit, soz to be a pain?

my m8 who owned my 19 before me, his father-in-law is a mechanic for the honda touring car team so hes going to do any work, but he just told me to find out exactly what i want done first, or what can be done. Anyone on here whos put the 172/182 lump in a 19 that you know of?

cheers Ad

dont know of anyone who's done it, although it's been done in a megane coupe, which in this context is the same as a 19 16v.

requires a custom exhaust manifold etc, and standalone management, TBs being easiest.

Other than that, it would be pretty straightforward, but you can get an F7R to the same power for a lot less effort and a lot less wonga!

info taken on board cheers.

The F7P ive got at the mo has only done 63k so would better value for money just to get maybe the head done, with different cams and a remap, i should see pretty reasonable gains right?

I'd love TB's, just for the sound really, dunno if i can justify having them on a daily driver though lol!
