Went out to my Clio 16v this morning and noticed the alarm wouldn't un-plip...then realised the red light wasn't on. Unlocked the car manually and turned the ignition but there was nothing. No lights on the dash, no fuel pump, nada.

The altenator was replaced five days ago after the old one broke and this one had seemed fine. The car was fine when I parked it up 12 hours ago; no battery warning light etc. I didn't leave any lights on or anything either.

So, is it new battery time? Any fuses I can check?

It just seems totally flat but the battery light never came on.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers.

charge your batt when done to be sure make sure doors boot bonnet closed, plip, unplip then should start

if the batt had enough power and if the doors pliped and un-pliped you could bump

my blue one would lose enough power over 2nights in the end to then crank once or twice before i had the same prob

just bought new batt problem was solved Very Happy

Was the new Alt connected up properly?

As that was the last thing changed on the car, thats where to start looking, don't forget that there is a cable that runs from the alt to the starter motor, if this is not connected then the charging circuit is not complete and thats whats killing your battery after a few days.
