I noticed last night when I was driving along with my window open that there is a sort of ticking noise (like a loud tick from a clock) coming from one of the wheels on the drivers side. It's just like something on the wheel make a slight clicking noise at every point on it's rotation as the speed of the clicks increases as the speed of the car increases.
I noticed a while ago that I get this sort of noise from the rear drivers side wheel if you rotate it by hand when jacked up and it's at the exact same point in it's rotation that it makes the noise every time but I couldn't work out what was causing the noise.
Any ideas?

could be a spot of rust on the disc to a sticky/damaged bearing.
Take the pads out and turn it, if the noise is still there then the bearing. |

It's drums I've got on the rear of mine chris.
Hope it's not the bearing, lol, I'm sick of those little buggers. |

So nothing to worry about then?
Is there anything you can do to clean up the drums and give them a once over? Is it pretty simple to do?

Yeah I'm planning that because they look so bad behind my alloys. What about the internals of the drum brakes?

well do that then see if it goes. leave the drums alone inside unlewss you have braking issues |

I'll just leave them then. The car brakes fine but the drums seem to be a bit noisy when braking (a kind of scraping - but not any sort of high pitched sound if you know what I mean) but as I say it doesn't seem to affect the braking

Once saw a Clio parked with fairly open alloys, it had some sort of plastic false disk in there.
Used to have a Clio Baccara. But the wheels cover the nasty R5- R4 brake drums quite well.
Wont help you to stop though. |

the wooden scraping noise when cold is a characteristic of these cars with rear drums. |

mines got a noise coming from the rear now, cant see any signs of contact, but its only on braking, and its almost like a ratchet, clunk, clunk, and is goes from side to side, puzzled me, ive had to out the alloys on from the valver due to the tyres legality of my originals lol |
