Sorry I have asked this before but I cannot for the life of me find the post so I'm gonna have to ask again. I'm gonna change me oil on the weekend and was wondering if I need to get a new sump drain plug thing? Or new washer for it? Or something? I'm sure I remember reading that somewhere? I might have just dreamt it tho! Or can I screw the same one back in after I've changed me oil? I'm kinda hoping I can cuz I can't be arsed havin to get one of them from somewhere lol

Cheers guys

you can use the old washer unless a new one comes with the oil filter u buy and the sump plug does not need replacing unless its broken etc (which is likely when i am involved Smile )

you will need a sump drain plug key to do and undo the plug though or a suitable size of socket

It is recommended to replace the sealing washer on the sump drain plug.

IMO it's worth replacing the sump plug washer as it doesn't exactly cost you much.

That must have been what I read somewhere then. Any ideas where to get one? There's one on gsf but it says it's for a steel sump. I was lookin through old posts on here lastnight and I'm sure I remember reading that only the early ph1's had steel sumps, and all the rest were ally. So my ph2 is gonna be ally probably? Will the washer for the steel one do for mine?

You need a steel washer with a plastic - rubber insert in the center.

Do not re-use it.

Copper washers are not good between the ally sump and the steel plug.
