Just wondered if anyone has ever owned/drive one of the older civics similar to THIS one?

The reason I ask is that one of my brothers mates may be selling his quite cheaply (for about £1500) which has had a lot of work done to it including a full engine rebuild so that it's now about 190bhp. I would really need to take a closer look at it but just thought I would see if anyone had any opinions on these cars and what they are like to drive.

yes driven them, always driven those shit champagne gold ones as well.

Nice? erm depends on your taste. Fast./ not really later gen ones are better.

MR2 is far better

worth over a grand? If your a proper idiot or its got 0 miles on the clock, never registered and totally immaculate - maybe.

Go get an mr2 for under a grand, much better car

cheers, as I say the one I would be thinking of is very quick as it's had a new engine with loads of work done to it put in there. Still kind of undecided on how much I like the look of it tbh, and the reason I would pay over £1k is simply because it's in such good condition and it's got a nice new engine in there.

I'll have a look at the MR2's. Really I'm just wanting to look at some alternatives to going for another renault for sub £2k.

you want a decent fast car with toys? Great handling, plenty room for tv's, sounds and can be made to look so sinister that darth vader would think its a bit evil?

Saab 9000 2.3 FPT son.

You can then laugh at porsche turbo owners cos you have a faster car than them from 70 - 120mph.

All whilst in silence, watching a dvd, with the air con on drinking a can of coke with the pimp cup in the cup holder in the heated leather seats.

early carlson saloon, get a minter for under 2k and frankly most cars cannot match its pace. 500 bhp is achievable but its all through the front wheels os it gets interesting.
