Just as everything looked to be going right and car working well for a change, im smacked in the face with another annoyance. Simple trip down the jobcenter ended up a nightmare, everything was fine untill I got into town and the temp needle started to climb. Nothing drastic untill I pulled up to be greeted with a plume of steam coming out the bonnet, open it up and theres a jet of water squirting out of where the radiator bleed screw once lived covering the coil, dizzy cap, everything. On closer inspection the top half had sheered off leaving the end still in the rad and said end just happens to have a small hole in it. The joys of renault ownership, trecked all round town to get hold of another one or a bolt of the same size to screw in to the rad but to no luck. Ended up taking a screw from the grill and bunging the hole up and hoping for the best, strangly it worked and didnt leak. Got home and off I went to the scrappy and borrowed a new one from a clio along with a aux waterpump relay. All was well again, untill some muppet in his astra took up abit too much room in the road and my and his car decided to shake wing mirrors. For a change nothing broke on the 19, but the mirror flew to bits on the astra. The mirror pane flew through his open window and the casing ended up in 3 bits along the road. So glad the days over. On the plus side, I discovered why my old pump relay didnt work:

One of the pins has corroded off, there appears to have been a small fire in it, most of the resistors had broken off and were found in a pile of rust in the bottom of the housing.

LOL. When I bought mine, I knew there was something wrong as there was silicone around the radiator plug! I decided to take it out this weekend with the replacement I got 12months ago! Jobs a good en! What a ball ache they are though! ANOTHER GREAT DESIGN BY RENAULT :d
