hey hey, I was just curious about your people's experiences with online fraud / bad purchases... if any of you have actually been put in that situation -- I have... I've bought a salvaged $15,000 car on ebay, only to find out it was totalled while being transported. Looking forward to your feedback!!

A couple of us had a seller on ebay try to scam us for various renault 19 16v parts, we paid, he did not deliver.

So with a little investigation we got all the guys details including his phone number and even a picture of the front of his house with his R19 parked on the driveway and emailed him all those details saying we would take the matter to the police if he did not send us our items.

We got our items and also gave his details to others on ebay who had bought items from him but not recieved.

He tried the same scam again at differnt times with Three different usernames and again we alerted other potential buyers and ebay to the guys history and his details to anyone who had made a purchase.

Sadly the guy has not learned his lesson because we saw him up to the same thing about a month ago, again we alerted ebay and potential buyers.

I wont give out the details of how we manage to spot him everytime as you never know, he may come across this forum sometime in the future, see this thread and change his tatics.

well in the 4 or so years i've used ebay i've only had two bad experiences, one from the seller mentioned above and one from a guy who bought a pair of headphones from me, he never paid, so i never sent and he left me bad feedback.
Overall ebay is a pretty good place to buy and sell but there will always be a few arseholes on there trying to beat the system.
