 over fuelling??

hi all i can smell petrol when i drive checked for leaks and its NOT leaking it smells from engine bay and iv noticed its using a bit more fuel so ckecked the plugs to c what they looked like and they are black with soot wipes off looked in my haynes maual and it says over fuelling so how can i fix this any help welcome

yea i have replaced it but i may just get another as my idel is a little high on the odd accasion too its really odd sometimes it idels perfect just under 1k the at next juction its back up to 15oorpm

well if its deffo overfueling theres only 4 things that can affect it really.

CTS, but you have changed that, but was it the correct one?

MAP sensor, the sensor may be dodgy or theres more chance of the pipework being dodgy, air leak here means it thinks the manifold is has little vacuum and thus runnign at high throttle.

TPS, will not auto matically over ride a dodgy signal from the map sensor.

Lambda, only way for this to go rich is if theres a leak before the sensor in the exhaust.

ok well if im right the map sensor is on the back of engine bay on little shelf sort of thing and ther tubing to it is black so i migt just for the sake of it replace all the tubing with some washer bottle tubing as its the same stuff anmd c what that does

washer tubing is not the same and will collapse.

spray carb cleaner through it, it should come out the manifold end, pull ther short bit off the manifold first to make sure.

ok ill c how one gets on lol got to much todo this wk end and with car off rd i wont have time probbally Evil or Very Mad
