Parts to salvagable from the 16v to the 1.4?

Hi before the engine gets done I was just wondering what parts I could nick off the 16v to put on the RT. I thinking about things like the shocks, and general suspension and possibly the rear beam depending on how much time I've got.. And hubs, can you swap those over as mines whining and I cba to get the bearing changed if I can just use parts off the valver Laughing

just swap everything over, dash, looms etc etc

cool, i'll do the dash and the clocks tomorrow then, not the loom yet though as i'll be swapping the engine is a few weeks. Is the suspension a straight swap then aswell?

Just this minute my shite clutch cable just snapped, only had it 3months and it was a genuine renault one, is the valver one the same?

valver cable is the same, suspension etc is the same.

the 16V rear axle is the same width as the 1.4, only ther williams is wider thats why the standard wheels are swamped on the 16V's.

nice one mate. Never knew that about the track though, thought it was wider that the 1.4. Is it wider at the front then or same? On the beam is the handbrake still cable operated?

same, only the williams had the wider track front and rear.

yes the handbrake is cable operated all handbrakes are. Its different cables though need to use them off the 16V or just go pay the 8 quid each for new ones.

cool, are the horns different? I tried to swap the valver one across as mine is crap but it didn't work Sad

Just swapped the clutch cable over to replace my snapped one and my god it's a pain in the arse!

horns are the same apart fromt eh later one which have a round plug.

chances are th ehorns fooked, go buy a new one fromt he factors, I get them for under 7 quid

odd, i tried both of em from the valver and neither worked, even though they did on the valver. The crap one i've got will do for now i suppose.

Only young and tasteless once dude.

Cheapest quotes for the valver were coming in at Â£600 due to the jugging it would require, screw that.

Got a local bloke with a willy R5 van that will carry out the conversion. Wanted you to do it Chris but there would be no way I could get those cars to you plus your busy as.

Fuse was alright btw Chris so dunno what was going on there, i'll buy another one as you said Smile

I don't mind swapping the bits over though, least it's something I can do myself (well some of it).

I bought a new horn for project B, they are a lot better than they used to be ont he aftermarket, it was fooking loud.

Check for supply though mate, common for the wire to rot right through in the loom somewhere.
