Right, for those that don't know I had a new pump fitted last year. After a couple of trackdays it was moaning like a bitch and there was no assistance for a short while on cold startup. So new pump fitted and all was well until I tried to drain some surplus out the reservoir and then it got noisy again. So I recently had it drawined and refilled.

Did Elvington on saturday though and it spat loads of fluid out. All up the inside of the bonnet and down the front wing.

Not fussed about that even though the engine bay is now gunked up, but it's started groaning like made from cold again. WTF is going on? Why does it keep doing this after trackdays?

Thought it was going to grind to a messy halt the other morning, but it was relatively quiet again by the time I got to the lights at the entrance to our estate.

Doing Ty Croes next monday so could do with sorting it really. I just want to know why it keeps doing it. Is the fluid getting too hot?

coudl be getting to hot, if theres air in it then the air bubbles will grow and make it spit it out when its being used hard.

i can;t even remember if the clios have the oikl cooler for the power steering fitted or not.

So it's just like a very small rad then? How do you reckon I'd plumb it in?

on the 19 the oil passes through it on its return to the bottle.

So it'd just be a question of finding some flexi piping to plumb it in from the rack then to the bottle? Presumably making sure the bottle remains the highest point in the system.

I'm thinking rip off the rack>reservoir pipe then plumb it all from there.

Going to have a squiz round the engine bay etc tonight to see about routing for it.

What sort of hose is used on the PAS system?

Right, I've had a look. I reckon it'll squeeze in behind the front bumper in front of the rad. Routing the pipes would be the issue. I think, from what little I could see, that the return pipe had a connection just below the brake master cylinder area. If so i'd whip that off there, and route a new length to the cooler somehow.

Then there's just the matter of figuring out how to route it back to the reservoir avoiding the hot bits.

the piping is braided meaty stuff. the cooler isn't on the pressure side though.

wrap the lines in tinfoil, crude but effective.

All my piping seems to just be thick rubber.

Does it have a sort of rubber, braid, then rubber construction?

I bought some hosing like that once for something. Is it fuel hosing or something. About 4-5years ago when I bought it.
