This auction is for a ph1 19 1.8 16V.

Car was bought as a project and has come on a long way, sadly personal and financial circumstances mean it has to go, it REALLY has to go.

I have a lot of pictures of this car and how its come on since I got it. I will include these on a cd when I sell the car.

The car has had one previous owner before me, I used to walk past the car on my way to college and always knew I would get it in the end.

Sadly theres no history with the car, the V5 is present and states there was 1 previous owner. I have 12 tax discs including the original issued in 1991!

The car has not MOT or TAX, but it will be MOT'd as the corrosion isn't actually a failure (its behind the skirts and not that bad)

Mechanicals

The car has covered 68,551 miles, this is low mileage and seems to be in keeping with any other rare to come up 1 owner car, they all seem to be under 70k!
The engine, headgasket, gearbox etc are all mechanically sound.
I have had the engine out changed the clutch, replaced a rear core plug and the cambelt.
Its also had an oil and filter change.
The rear core plug and water pump removed to totally clear out the engine blocks water gallery, this means temp remains stable.
The braking system has been changed from Bendix 'widowmaker' ABS to a conventional and suprerior servo assisted setup, of course theres new fluid in it and new handbrake cables.
The exhaust system is a recent replacement, the paper labels are still clear to read on it.
The front pads are new and the brake discs are uprated drilled discs.
Recent rear dampers
New power steering fluid.
New gearbox oil.
New front top mounts.
New front engine mount
New exhaust rubbers
New lock set and Plip
New exhaust manifold to downpipe studs
new metal brake pipes to the front wheels.
I have receipts for the majority of the new parts.
I also have pictures of all work!

Bodywork

Body wise the car needs attention

The sills are holed ahead of the rear wheels, not as bad as most ph2's though and can only be seen if you remove the plastic side skirts.

On the drivers side B pillar theres a hole and also under the rear 1/4 window, there is another repair section included with the car which was cut out of a ph2 19, it just needs welded in and painted.

The rear passenger arch has been scuffed by a forklift as the pics show

The car was parked daily under a tree by the previous owner and this caused the rust issues.

The bonnet vent has corroded badly and dropped but I have a bonnet that has a perfect vent but tatty front edge, so you can have that if you wish instead. Currently the hole for the vent is covered with gaffa tape to keep the area and engine dry.

I had planned on a full strip down, new panels and full respray. But this is no longer feasible.

The car does drive and it drives fine as well, its rather nice actually.

The pictures show the car on steels and 17' inch alloys on the front. The car will come with these AND a set of 4 ph1 alloys with centre caps with no tyres.

The interior is in good condition. I have also removed th ecard fromt he roof which is a common problem on these cars, it prevents the sunroof retractign fully it snow sorted.

I have spent a fair chunk on this car already and a hell of a lot of work hours on it.

email me at chris__h42@hotmail.com or pm me here

The car is located in GLASGOW, SCOTLAND, so if your in cornwall and have no intention of coming up don't bother me with questions.

I need the car gone ASAP, preferably before the 18th Sept.

cut out repair section, this will remove all the rot from the damaged area, just needs the bit welded in after the rots cut away.

The car has cost me a fortune, I paid to much for it and have sunk a lot of cash into it. Due to a recent relief of my license and the fact I need cash to pay for that relief of my license the car has to go.

£450 gets it and yes I AM losing money at that price.

If anyone buys this and wants parts I'm breaking a ph1 in 449 blue, so just ask. Ask Chris if he has the parts first though, don't wanna tread on any toes here.

Also Chris hasn't made a big issue out of it but converting to non ABS is a big big benefiet (The ABS failed on mine and that's why it's being broken)

Awwww ok then, worth a try either way lol. Really need to shift these parts. If i had the money I'd buy your hatch and finish it off with the bits from mine.
