Oh ffs man! Hard luck! Sad

Does the engine just stop when the cam belt snaps? You'd better whip the head off an have a look I'd guess....

tis buggered.

Even at idle they can bend. you can be lucky at idle though sometimes.

Get a new belt and try it, worth a shot.

Stick it on time it up, cam cover off then turn the engine over, if it won't turn or you casn see the lifters sitting below the cam lobes then valves are bent. Head off time.

Nah George the engine keeps going making clattery noises then stops. Or if the revs are high enouygh a very loud bang then silence cos a piston just got holed.

feckity fuckity fook! this is not good, i had myself virtually convinced id get away wi it, if it had happened just five minutes before things would have been messy i was toying with a bottle merchant in a VR6 on the motorway back from stirling, when it happened i was just pullin into a roundabout doing no speed at all, in fact yes its going to be fine, new belt no bother....what is it they call that denial? You mean the ones where you can spin the lump round so you can attack the sump standing up etc??

HSS rent out hoists, 30 quid for a weekend. Ben and I used one in leeds to do his swap.

Engine stand, these are pretty cheap to buy new But why do you want the engine out and on a stand?

Tell me what your wanting to do bud and I can advise a bit better.

just stick the enging on a pallet or something. Won't do it any harm.

Engine stands can get unstable when you fit a complete engine to it with manifolds etc on it.

But if you want to remove the sump etc to clean it then yeah why not buy one, 30 quid or something.

the tubular manifold off a williams??

its not straight forward to fit. ie not a straight swap, some work will be needed to get it to fit in a 19
