engines had it from the sound of it as it should pull well from 70 to well over the ton relatively easily in 5th.

Even on a diesel box I very much doubt 3rds taller than 5th in a 16V box.

You checked the cam timing?

pull the cambelt cover off and make sure the cams are lined up with the marks on the cam cover. Also check the crank pulley lines up with them.

turn the engine so the pulleys white marks line up with the marks on the cam cover. also make sure the white marks on the pulley are actually in the right place, theres dimples on the pulleys, pick the paint off to double check.

they should be both lined up precisely, 1 tooth out will loose a fair chunk of power.

nice oil on the plugs, theres a missfire under load.

Have you checked the crank mark as well?

if you don't wanna take the bottom aux pulled off put a rod/long extension down the plug hole. it shoudl be at its highest point with the cam markls lined up, rock it back and forth to check.

done that , the highest point is where the white lines meet, so thats fine, i noticed 2 stripes on the actual belt exactly 4 teeth to the left of each cam cog white mark,if that means anything, . so now what should i be checking Smile??

if its tight then can feel restricted. There should be about an inch of play with a really good waggle between the cam pullies.
