hey guys well anuther problem ere

right left the girlfriends house and turned left out her road and went to turn right at the junction, car moved then sumthing started grinding and there was no drive just grinding noises wen you let the clutch off, however if you turn the steering full lock right and slowly let the clutch off the car would move, if the steering was straight or full lock left no drive and grinding noises, RAC towed me home and suggested the driveshaft join. for some weeks now evrytime i turned right you would get a knocking sound frm the nsf and when you turn left i.e at a roundabout you get sqeeking noises like your braking, after metioning this to the RAC guy he was 95% sure it was the driveshaft join

what you guys reckon???

ive just tried to move it, stuck it in reverse turned right and it did move back up the hill a bit but then slipeed and started grinding again feels like the force when it slips is coming frm the left had side when it slips would i need to change the whole shaft or can i change it frm the split pin if the outer CV join is the prob and not the spider inside the g/box

If its the passenger side then you have remove the 3 inner bolts that attach the shaft/gater to the box and remove the whole lot. Changing the box oil while your at it might not be a bad idea, unless its been done recently. IF its the driver's side then just hammer out the roll pin and it pulls off .

if the engine jumps like a bastard when it happens then the drivers side has probably popped, the grease etc everywhere will give the game away.
