 prob with rev counter

when i rev the car the counter seems to go up to 2k and sticks abit then goes past and it does that at 3k to, not sure if its a duff rev counter or an electirical fault. Confused

so you think it could be the needle sticking then, the car sounds like its idleing fine but the rev counter is siting around 1500 rpm but when i turn the engine off it goes back down Confused

i checked the counter today and there are no signs of it sticking, when i start the car its at 1k rpm the after a few seconds its up to 1.5k rpm also when in gear at high revs the needle will not go over 3k.

its broke, could ber many things but I'd say a gauge fault. Either stickign or if its not the face stickign then the needles arcing otu or something.

Yup chris is right! I had that with my other 1.4 19 in which I had put a 1.7 dash and fitted white dials after that the dial had moved a 1 milimeter down and the needle run againt the dial resulting in not getting high enough and knackering the gauge eventually. Had to get another gauge from scrappy Sad
