Basically i have a hub and n/s shaft assembly off the car (removed by the guy i bought it off) where the driveshaft is still connected to the hub. I've tried putting a wheel bolt into the hub to stop it turning but it doesnt go in enough to completely stop the hub turning when i try and undo the hub nut.

I then tried using coathanger wire and securing the swivel hub against the main hub bolts using the wire in the hope that it would stop it turning. Put the hub in a vice and tried undoing the nut. No luck it is unbelievable tight.

So what options do i have here? Will heating the nut make it any easier to get off? or should i take the lot to a garage and ask em to try and get the nut off.

Any ideas?
