 Problems from cold

Sorry mate, just trying to check. I have been told time and time again to change the CTS which I have done, other than that I've not be told to do anything time and time again. I just wanted to check if what I had noticed would have an effect on the probable cause of the problem.

and clean the TB and clean the air temp sensor and so on.

in fact gimme the car and I will sort it for you, since its you £20 quid an hour labour which is 5 quid down on my normal rate.

Thanks for the offer mate but I'll try to clean it all up myself and see how things go.

Didn't want to start an argument or piss anyone off, just wanted to see if what i had noticed would suggest anything else.

Cleaned it up today, but the TB on my car was a bit different to the one used in the knowledge base which was also a 1.4 Clio. This is a picture of the TB that was on mine:

This didn't have an air temp sensor inside the TB as in the knowledge base, but I am guessing this is the air temp sensor?

I am now guessing that's the problem because in the last week the weather has been a bit better and I have got 95 miles out of £10 of fuel compared to my usual 70 miles and it was only when the weather got colder that my MPG went down.

Is there any way of cleaning that up or would I just have to get a new one?

I'll try and get a multimeter on it if I can get one to measure it's resistance at different temperatures.

yes thats the air inlet temp sender.

You can clean it with carb cleaner but it looks clean so theres no point.

The sensor is the same used on 16V's, laguns and meganes and so on, so easy to get another from the scrappy.
