Bought for £65 this car was never really going to be 'good'

It's a 1.2 Clio RN with two months tax and MoT, some cosmetic issues, no sunroof, a tacho and 67k miles on the clock.

It was bought as a temporay car whilst my brother's is being fixed.

The interior is in a bad way too. Stinks of dog, has mould, rips in the seats etc etc.

Plan is, once my brother has finished with it I can keep it, fit new interior, fix the oil leak, flush the coolant, sort the body work and attmept to make some kind of profit from it.

Anyway, by now I'm sure you're all gagging for some pictures.

Here she is:

And the even more damaged side:

You can just make out where someone has keyed it. It looks like they wrote "Hi"...hello you scum bag.

First job was to fit a new mirror. All pattern parts of course Wink

Mirror base removed. As can be seen above (all that was left was the base of the mirror

Then off with the broken number plate and front repeater.

Now with the new bits....

Looking better already.

The car isn't too bad mechanicaly and goes go alright for what it is. Was suprised to see a tacho and a RT style speedo that only goes upto 120Mph. Never seen one before.

Anyway, things that need doing are: new air filter, new rocker cover gasket as it's leaked oil everywhere. Driveshaft sounds like it needs replacing, but I will probably leave that.

And obviously need to source some new interior and get started on the body work. Quite a few bits (roof, bonnet, tailgate, front wings) will buff up ok but needs both dents pulling on the rear wings and the scratches sorting.

Looking forward to this as I hopefuly stand to make a few hundred when it's finished and my dad and all his garage tools are on hand to help me long the way. Should learn a thing or two as well.

All in good time Chris, all in good time!

My bro is still using it, but I should hopefuly have it sometime next week.

Dents will be pulled out rather than kicked. If they're too serious then I won't bother.

I'm going to get it through it's MoT when the time comes to see if it's even worth bothering about.

Might do the rocker cover and air filter next, probably in a couple of weeks, but next update will be of it cleaned and the interior hooverd to see what's what.

Well sadly project Cliowned will be no more.

I gave it some serious thought and took it for a small drive and it did seem passed it.

Clutch was on its way out, overheated, leaked water into the cabin. Interior was mangled inc door pins, radio etc. Bits missing.

It wasn't going to be as easy as I was hoping so I decided to steal some bits off it for the 16v and was going to take it to the scrappy (rag the utter bollocks off it first though Very Happy)

Sadly today though, my Dad managed to sell it for £50 to a trader lol...so it never got the send of it deserved.

Anyway, I stole about £15 worth of stuff from it and I hope the new owner knows it has no blower unit, rad switch, a flat tyre, some abuse from me lol and the wipers and scuttle panel arent on correctly Smile

Maybe another little beast will crop up that isn't quite so fecked.
