and the engine is mounted by the cambelt cover?

Surely if the mount bolts to the cambelt cover, and the cambelt cover is bolted to the head, then youre mounting the engine (at least partially) via the head/headbolts?

seems a bit dodge to me!

what it is i have sold my cambelt cover to a chap with a clio, just wonder if it can be slightly modded to fit, i thought they would be the same as its the same engine.

just to be clear...are you talking about the cover down the side covering the pulleys and belt and not the rocker cover on top?

afaik the mount is more of a rubber stabiliser than a solid weight bearing mount...but the covers are different....the clio one providing mounting points for the mount.

but as jimbo said this wont really stop u using it on a 19...will just look a bit diff..still do the same job

they both fit exactly the same. the clio mount takes the weight of the engine, and stops it kicking about in the engine bay wen under load.

the clios moutn is attached to the cambelt cover. That engine mount holds the engine up. the dog bone stops back and forth movement.

The 19 is supported underneath.

And the covers are totally different but will fit except a 19 cover on a clio is no use at all.
