I am planning on starting removing my engine and gearbox from the Clio this weekend (after removing the engine and gearbox from the 19, it looks much tighter and trickier in the clio), I was just wondering exactly what needs to be changed from the clio to the 19 engine and box other than engine mounts?
Has anyone on here actually done this job themselves?

So far I know of;
-2 Engine mounts (Use off Old clio)
-1 Gearbox to Subframe mount (Bought new one other day)
-Airbox/Throttle Body (Use off old Clio)

What else?

you'll need to use the whole clio ancillary mounting bracketry setup as well, as the 19 setup wont fit.

Sorry, could you elaborate a bit?
I got that the power steering and alternator are be different. [Actually, are they? Or is it just where they are positioned on the brackets?]

water pump? why (and how) would that be different?

the alt is the same on the clio, i think the ps pump is too, its just their relative positions that is different, more squashed up close to the block. it's all a straight swap from one block to the other though.

ah ok, the ps pump is different. 172/182's is the same as the 19's though, im pretty sure. not that that is of any relevance here.

Also, if i change the inlet manifold i'm going to need a new gasket right?
Might as well get a gasket set if thats the case and get the big ends and bearings checked, was making a metallic sound from down below. Worth it on a 71k engine?

It didnt make it when i 1st bought it and had it in the 19.
Its only over the past 2k prob it makes a *slight* metallic noise. I'm talking like noticible if ure listening and some of the time. its not serious and im sure it could have many happy years yet but i thought as its off...

sorry i think i may have made it sound worse than it is.

Do you think it will be easier to use the ECU and key fob reciever from the 19? or just wire up the ECU currently in the clio?
