 R19 16V - engine died

right basically the cam belt snapped after the engine made a funny noise, replaced cam belt ( what a pain that is!!!), engine turns over fine with no valve to piston contact, but it's still making the funny noise. also it wont fire because the immobiliser is playing up. anyone got any suggestions?

yeah the valves are all bent, get the head off and sort that then it will go.

reset the ECU for the immob . . power off to it by removing a battery connection, reconnect battery and double plip the doors. (the doors must be shut)

so have you just changed the belt after it has snapped without taking the head off?

yea thas wat i thought my old mans cam belt broke just pulling onto a roundabout and bent 12 out of 16 valves

rip the immob out then, I tend to find they cause more problemns than they solve!

They never install them properly.
