Done a few trackdays now and although the car has been fantastic, I need more speed and grip.
The car is mechanically standard apart from a full stainless exhaust and induction kit. Grip wise, it's on standard suspension (recently renewed) and running Toyo T1-R's on standard rims. It handles beautifully but I'm lacking grip.
Advice on the following would be good:
1. Decat pipe - worth the £50 from K-Tec, just weld a pipe in or std cat OK?
2. Engine transplant (when funds permit) - 165/225bhp 2.0 turbo from Megane/Scenic or 172/182 2.0 Clio? Worth the hassle/expense? Anyone know of any conversions?
3. Extra grip. Never driven one on 16's or 17's and I don't want to upset the handling. Are bigger wheels the way to go? Anyone used semi-slicks on one of these like the Toyo 888's. Or do I need to modify suspension?

Apologies for lots of questions.

Thanks in advance.

1st de-cat never worth money, get one built go steal a cat fromscrappy and use the flanges, personally yu want a straight pipe from downpipe to back box....
2nd it aint worth the hassle as its wired in a whole different way... go for fr7 then if not happy turbo it (it can be done quite cheap!!)
3rd donno Laughing coilovers would say, so you can do the camber and toe, also some sticky tyres...

1. like bb says or look on ebay for a cheapy

2. nope. you can drop any of them in and other engines like the VAG 20V turbo etc but its money and hassle. Cheapest way to 2l power is megane bottom end with the 1.8 head and 1.8 flywheel.

3. No they are not. how old are the tyres? If new then they need a while to scrub in, even on track days.
