Right i have a ph1 19 16v here with the dodgy ABS system (bendix or bosch, i forget which is the crappy one) and i want rid of it

I'd rather have no ABS than ABS that can leave you with a pedal that goes to the floor

Whats needed to remove the ABS or is it not worth the effort?

Need non ABS master cyl, new brake pipes. You will also need to get he right thingies for the remote resovoir, thingies bing the 90 degree plasti bits that join the pipes to the master cyl.

The master cyl depending on which ABS you have may also need a servo.

The brake pipes, you can cut and join or what I woudl do is replce the front brake pipes and replace the rears to the join under the passengers toes.

Engine out makes it easier but it is possible with engine in. Quicker and a lot easier to just lift the lump out though.

i ditched the bendix ABS on mine. quite a task to be honest. u need to remove the whole pedal box, and swap across the servo and ms. then u gota fit new lines(well i had to anyway, old ones didnt reach far enuff and wer nakered after 10yrs).

then uv gota somehow connect the low fluid light, to the handbreak light on the ABS clocks, othersie the handbrake light stays on all the time. but il let u figure that out for urself.
