Just thinking if you use to low a profile tyre and you have had your car lowered you will have major ground clearance issues as thats why i had to change up to using 15's i ground out on nearly every bloody lump and speed hump in the land and cost me a new exhaust in the process.

I was using the 185/55/13 as i mentioned above although if you dont want to go into retail centre's or down roads with speed humps the 13's are great and i find much better than the 15's for handling purposes.

hmmm, i see, my car is very low ... its a mk1 clio -60mm on the front and about the same on the back, maybe -55m on the back.

looks mint on the 13's and that is why i am keeping the 13's as they are so much more fun than other bigger wheels.

just trying to find the best tyre to run too, the Yoko A539's seems a favourite, and the Dunlop SP2000 or SP9000?

cheers!

cool, my wheels look mint now, think i am the first to do it on a clio anyway, i havent seen R5 rims on a mk1 before, and i have refurbed them in black, really chuffed with them... just need some good rubber around them.

so what would you recommend for best handling/ride.. a539's in what size etc...?

cheer for the help pal!

I would say 185/55's as this is what i had on my R5 and it handled nicely and that was with budget ish tyres. Yoko's are quality tyres so should handle better again, the only prob with yoko tyres is that they are made from a softer rubber and so they will die quicker than the more budget makes.

Sorry buddy yoko a539's are not available in 185/55/13's but they are available in 185/60/13's also the Toyo proxes are worth a look as some of my mates have some on their cars and they recon they are great.

185 55 13's but if you can find some 15" rims down the scrappy then 195/45x15's will go and are cheaper if you go down the 15" route then look out for R25 5 spoke's they look great. I use toyo's myself best tyres i've ever had on the 5 but then she also don't get used very often and defo not in the wet
