Have noticed recently that my rad fan never comes on. The temp gauge reaches second from top (11 o clock) sometimes but the fan never kicks in. Whats not working? The fuse in intact.

Cheers

On mine it was the Thermostatic Switch in the radiator (bottom left hand side with an electric plug going into it). Take the plug off bridge it with a piece of wire (paper clip works) and if the fan comes on the thermo switch is knackered! Had to do mine not long ago, just after putting a new radiator in Sad

Make sure your Hummer bonnet vent is causing the shield on he rad to stop the fan turning Rolling Eyes

I got the similar problem now in my R19 Ph2 F3P Crying or Very sad
I just changed the thermostatic switch today but still, the fan doesnt come on.
I also bridged the plug leading to the fan and then it came on.

What can be the problem since i just put a new switch in ? Confused

you sure all the cables from the fan switch are in contact and not broken ?

i think you can also test the fan switch out of the car in boiling water

What temperature in CĀ° will it cut in the fan at half speed and which temp at full speed?
Just to get the idea how hot the outside water has to be for testing purposes Wink

there no half speed its just full speed, 92 degrees I think it comes on at and goes off at 82 or something.

If the cars just idling it will trake about 20 mins for it to get hot enough from cold to get the fan to come on.

Strange, i'll just monitor the temp for the next few days. See if it will rise abnormally.
But still, after changing the stat switch, the fuel low light has started to blink, it hasnt done that for the 6 months i've owned it so far Laughing
(and yes, it has gone low enough, once i ran out of gas aswell Embarassed )
