Yep... You your right, water in the plug holes.... dried them out mixed up a bucket of cement and poured it down the wells. this should keep the water out.
wot (I mean what really)'s that i hear? how do i change the plugs? My mate's got a road drill, soon dig 'em out right?
All kidding aside, this must be the most anoying thing for Renault owners,
i thought as soon as the weather's good i'll re seal the air scoop! Wrong, soon as the weather's good your out thrashing the bl**dy thing. Never mind, its just been pouring down here, might just have to take the Mrs. old banger to work in the morning....
could tape a plastic bag over the air scoop....
could tape a plastic bag over the Mrs mouth.... God i'm brave.....
Must stop ranting.. just found the kids collection of dry bogies under the fron edge of the screen.
Been a hard day, i get like this sometimes!! he he .

Haha nothing better than coming across a stash of hard bogies, gives you something to ping at people. Have you really cemented up the plug wells??

night mare aint it!! the drip tray dont catch my but i welded a peice of tube to the slot which directed the water over the rear manifold, try getting a sheet of metal, aluminium and the like, and make your own coever like what nick hill sells at hill power, use two *u* bolts round the crossbrace and bolt it over the rocker cover that will defianlty stop it, i always carry round a squeerter thing from the top of a mr mussle cleaning contaier and a can of wd40, normly only happens to mine afer a shite load of rain if the cars been stood for a few days. or if i jet wash the engine!!!!

Ahhh so that explains it!
Was marshaling at a rally in kielder forrest not long after I got my 19 - I've never seen rain like it in my life and so windy that there were rivers of water flowing 'up' the road!
Anyway the engine started misfiring badly (didn't atually stop) but sounded like it was only firing on one cylinder!
After a while I noticed that it only did it after I'd hit a large puddle and then would clear after a while untill the next big watersplash.
Anyway now I know why - will need to do something to sort it.
