After some help guys :recently clio has been playing up can get in it starts and drives fine after a journey of say 15-20 miles stop the car leave for any amount of time and wont start .It turns over but wont fire up .its so random any info would be great cheers

Should be on the engine flywheel, above the gearbox

How does it turn over when it won't start - quite well? or lazily? I've got a very similar problem Confused

located the sensor took it off was capped in dust. wire brushed it bit of wd40 and sweet as a nut cheers guys for all your help

I did this too this evening. It didn't look too bad actually.
I'll have to see if it makes any difference now... Confused

yeah go for it mate your problem might be different to what mine was doing it was turning over fine but randomely not firing up i was quite stumped when ive had new coil pack spark plugs ignition leads and recently had basically a reconditioned engine .

yeah my electrics all seem fine too. it's only when the engine has been running and you try to restart it that it sometimes won't. At worst i just have to wait a few minutes, or get a bump start Wink

starter motor could be on its way out sometimes get affested by the heat the engine produces

Don't get spiteful! I do appreciate the advice but If there's anything free i can do that might help it i'd rather do that first
