My drivers side rear caliper keeps binding, after taking a look i discovered something was missing on the problematic caliper..

This is the other caliper, which is in fine working order>>

HEre is a close up pic of the same caliper, that rubber thing around the piston, whats it called???

The reason i ask is because on the problematic caliper, it is not present>>

With my limited knowledge of calipers and brakes in general, is that if i replace the rubber thing on the other caliper and put some type of grease in their also, would it cure the problem?

yes the dust seal not being there will tend to seize it up.

It looks ok enough to be saved, get the piston out a bit more to check its condition then clean it up and fit the new gaiter.

Sound, so if i say i need a "dust seal gaiter for a rear caliper" the monkeys at Renault will know i am from the same planet as them..

also how far should i get the piston out, does it know when to stop, i.e not pop out?
