Hi all! I know mine isn't classed as a retro ride yet but im in need of any tips as im about to conquor changing my rear disks on my phase 1 megane coupe. Its a 2.0l 16v, i know i need 238mm disks but ive heard i may need the ones with the wheel bearings already set in to them. is this the case? if so is it just renault that sells them or are there any other good dealers of brakes. if not, do need new bearings or can i reuse the old ones?

Ive asked the coupe-club but had no reply Please help.

To change them you just undo the hub nut and remove the caliper and they slide off easily. Getting the bearings out can either be real easy or a right bitch. If it's the discs you need to change, you can reuse your old bearings, but if you don't know how old they are you'd be better off just having new bearings too. You can buy discs with or without bearings already in them from the motor factors. If you get the discs seperate from the bearings, then again you have to fit the bearings which can be an arse if you don't have access to a press.

Your megane uses the same rear discs as the 19 16v, clio 16v and clio williams too, so if you see some for sale for any of those cars, you can buy them and use them. Need to make sure they have the ABS rings on them though if your megane has ABS. Have a look around on ebay, usually some on there.
