Been trying to wire in the rear central locking motor. Had a gander i the haynes and it tells me i should be looking for a white and mauve pair if wires, the bit of wiring coming off the locking motor is white and mauve...great you'd think, except I cant find any on the on the wiring at the back of the car, theres a black one, and orange one and a green one that have no where to go. Any one got any ideas?

Cheers

I persume your talking about wiring in the central locking solonoid on the boot which was disconnected when ben swapped boot lids - in which case, the only wires that are there (you may have to remove the rear shelf carpet to gain better access) are the wires for the rear fogs which i crudly connected and the central locking - both of which (I think) contain, or share, an earth cable rather then earthing from the chassis.

Just get yourslef a 5w 12v sidelamp bulb and connect it to the wires that are there, eathing each one to the chassis while activating the central locking - when you have the correct combination the lamp will light. I did find which one it was by this method but once I had connected the fog lamps I had lost interest in connecting the one for the boot as I didn't really see the point anyway.

Hope that helps.

I done this the other day and I will need to do it on the white chamade.

The wire snaps at the top of the hinge where it passes into the car.

Anyway you need to remove the parcel shelf which means taking the interior side panels off.

You will also find an earth point under there.

The correct colour cables will be there.

You just ned to join them up with new wire, I used some speaker cable I had lying about.
