The rear wheel arches on my 19 aren't showing any outward signs of rust (yet) The car is a 95 so it's one of the younger ones. Is there anything I can do to help the arches stay rust free. Does hosing road dirt out from the arches actually help. I imagine it makes little difference - isn't the arch a double skinned panel with corrosion starting between the two skins and eventually eating through to the outside.

yes hosing them out prevents problems.

Some have more seam sealer applied than others, those with lots of seam sealer applied never rust others rust quickly, its luck of the draw with it.
