I'd happily give it all up thou for an Evo lol

The evo has no character. I had a 6 for the weekend and got bored of it. even the seat in its dullness has more. Fast tho!

Thats an Evo 5 in the pic, probably the last of the EVO's that did have character, the later ones got too much technology on them which 'enhances' the driving experience, bollocks! it takes out the fun of getting the thing sideways and those arse puckering ooooo shit moments.

I was attempting to keep up with an EVO around Cadwell Park on a trackday a couple of weekends ago in my 19 (don't laugh, he wasn't that much faster) and he lost the rear end and totalled it destroying the front and rear into the armco. It woke me up I have to say and felt for the guy.

.............So I love my 19 because it cost me £450 and not £30,000.

Lift off on a four wheel drive puts engine braking on the four wheels.

You have to be very good to catch it.

I would love to have a Sub or Mitsu but I would lose the thing pretty quickly for sure.

+ fuel consumption is silly.

The 19 is just much more of a practical car than the Clio. Christ I hate the Clio 16v SO much - Not becuase of it's looks but just because it's been embraced by the Readline chav culture.

Gimme a 19 any day - Would love to make a BTCC Chamade replica

Alain Menu's actual BTCC factory shell was up for sale a while back on racecarsdirect.

I've still got my eye on one of the ex Plato 11 shells that's sat in a shed at Thruxton. If it ever came up forsale i'd put in a bid. It's not got an engine but it would be cool to put it on the road and say, it's a genuine Renault Sport shell.

Did the Menu 19 sell and if so how much for?

iirc the price when it was on racecarsdirect was £800.

But it was literally just a shell, albeit a properly caged/welded shell.

Damn that's actually very cheap like you say, considering it's a motorsport prepped shell. It's a Ph2 aswell which makes me love it even more!

FPMSL - Actually Neal I think you might be on to something cos the 19 cleaned up against the Vauxhalls on track until it started to rain (bare in mind the Rainy Day Vs Dry Days ratio in the UK). Obviously the reason for this is because the Ph2 doesn't like the English weather as it causes them to fall to bits so they were given team orders to slow down and that's why they changed to the Laguna as it didn't rot!

i'm not completely sure why I love my 19.. i was in the market for a clio 16V or williams, but came across my current car and bought it.. haven't regretted it for a single moment.. i have actually never been in a clio 16v, since both 19 16v's and clio 16v's are very rare here in denmark..

i can just say, i love it more for each day that passes Smile
