Some hold up better than others, but it's a fact that if you have a 19, pretty soon it WILL require some welding...

Hi, took the car for a MOT yesterday and usual culprit, rust on sills. I am just wondering if anyone knows the procedure for checking for rust because the garage were using metal rods and giving a few hard knocks to poke holes. Most of the damage was found this way and I remember reading somewhere that they are only supposed to use rubber end of a
hammer. Also listing has been updated on ebay with MOT results and lower price if anyone still interested.

hi, just reading this on the ad.......

rear brake pads less than 1.5mm,
can be supplied and fitted for free from kwik fit guarantee

i really cant see kwik fit changing them for free somehow.... just my opinion from experience, as they will say "wear and tear"

Hi, just to say they will have to replace brake pads for free, its a lifetime guarantee, never pay for brake pads again.

Anyway the car is now sold.

Thanks for you help through this.

Thanks

of course you have to pay for pads if they are worn out, otherwise we'd all go to kwik fit and never pay for pads again

Thats nice guys, I tell you genuine stuff about the guarantee but you guys take the piss. I took the liberty to scan my guarantee in and enclose a pic. Hopefully you guys will stand corrected and maybe learn that some people are genuine.

Yep, they do offer that as it's as long as you own the car. They charge a fortune for it, and because on balance most people don't own a car long enough to change the pads more than once, they still make a good profit. For every person who comes back for the second or subsequent set, there are probably 10 more who sell/crash/scrap the car before it needs them.

In other words, whoever buys the car will not be able to get kwik fit to replace the pads, as the offer is limited to you, while you own the car.

Or in other words, get down to kwik fit yourself while you're still the owner and get them to change the pads, then use 'new pads' as a selling point.

I assume it was you who took up that offer at kwik fit the last time the pads were changed? If that offer thing was given to you by the previous owner, then you won't be able to use it either!

yeah, i know someone who looked into this, and they do charge a fortune, and they worked out that it was cheaper to get a local garage to do it, but i still stand corrected Neutral Crying or Very sad Mr. Green
