Hi

This is my Renault 1.9TD.

I used to have a 16 Valver but had it put to the graves when it kept spouting rusty water out of the expansion tank, after RENAULT AT BLACKBURN cost me over £1000 to sort this problem i said stuff it and got a VOLVO!!!! Unfortunately that met its doom after the engine blew up right underneath a CCTV camera on the M65! Mad

Anyway ive had this car for 2 months now. When i got it, it was just a basic slug but got a good deal on another renault that had blown its top so just fitted what i needed in to mine,,, as follows: got low profiles, phase 2 alloys, lowered suspension, chrome topped induction kit (New), upcropped rear exhaust backbox, full leather interior.... so far anyway

Hope you enjoy.

I welcome compliments and criticisms so fire away. Makes me feel like shi*e and then picks me up again!!

regards

Hi

It does suffer from the dreaded bonnet bubbles! Just two small patches above the head lights and MR CHIPS has been hard at work from TARMAC taking little pits out of the front of the bonnet but thats it.

How do i turn the fuelling up??? I was told i could adjust different things on the 19td but am not really familiar with this model.

TELL ME!! LOL

I'll post a pic of the pump when I get home, wouldn't mind doing it to my TD after i've sourced another intercooler.

ADDED: As you can see in the bottom picture of the front seats the gear knob is pointing north by north east, this is because THE FLAMMIN THING WONT STICK IN ONE POSITION!!!! Laughing

Is it all renaults that have a screwer gear knob as it happened in my 16 valver as well.

Its fun when your pushing up from 2nd to 3rd and the gear knob swivels in your hand!! Laughing

Col.

P.S Ive chosen my words very careful when using Gear and KNOB!! Very Happy Dont want to give any funny ideas away!! Confused

thats one thing i am trying to get to grips with is the TD engine, just cant do it.

Have any of you got any pics of the OIL feed's? My Mate lee asked this question:

type of thred that goes into the block for the oil feed and were it is on the block ?

My response cant be published!! HELP!! Smile

And wait for it, could be balloney, Can diesels be fittied with a dump valve. ( Question talked about in great depth with loads of people but no answer as yet)

Theres mean to be a Volvo TD with a dump valve that keeps peeing me off at 2.30am but i said its petrol but they wont have it.

SET ME STRAIGHT!!!!!

Diesels can be fitted with a dump valve but it is triggered electronically and costs around £280.

Dump values on petrol cars are triggered by a change in manifold pressue caused by the throttle butterfly closing. The air a diesel intakes is not regulated by this method (or at all) so an alternative method is used. As far as I know this method monitors the throttle position (+ maybe boost?) and triggers the dump valve when there is a sharp release of the throttle.

I'm just thinking now that as it is electronic it might only be used on 'fly by wire' cars e.g. MK4 Golf thus it may not be possible to install one on your Reno.

lol right sorry I still haven't done whatI said I wopuld.

Dump valve, sad little man. yes they can be used but as theres no throttle plate theres no vacuum so you need to splce into the brake servo feed pipe. And then get a controller like Stephen said, don't do it cos you shall be barred from the site if you do for lack of taste.

Oil feed comes from the back of the lump from the place where the oil pressure sender gauge is on the 16V's.

Will sort out that pic with arrows etc to let you all know what everything is. but I have a megane to fix.
