Does anyone else's local one get arsey when you give them part numbers? They always question me where I got the numbers from. Goes something like this:

"I need the following parts: numbers xx xx xxx xxx"

"OK... Who looked these part numbers up?"

"I did"

"Where?"

"Dialogies mate"

"Oh... are you a business?"

"No, just fixing my car"

"You shouldn't have that...it's not for customers blah blah"

"I use it all the time, very handy isn't it"

"Well we should look the parts up for you"

"It's easier this way"

"Even so...blah blah blah"

"Yeah OK...well can I have my parts then or not?"

"...yeah"

What's the big deal exactly? Bloody jobsworths, I'm saving them effort of looking stuff up and making sure I get the right part first time.

I used to tell them I read the numbers off the old parts, or they looked the numbers up for me previously or some crap, now I tell them Dialogies straight out just for the reaction.

"Dialogys"

Its very easy to get the part no. wrong especially with the proper dialogys so i guess they're just trying to cover themselves

Exactly, that's half the reason I do it myself, I don't trust them!

Yes but your version of dialogys isn't actually a version. Its a bastardised copy so i wouldn't rely on it.

It very good, but i'll always check the numbers on the proper one here

The response and tone they use definitely suggests they are much more concerned with the fact that I have the software than whether or not the numbers are correct.

lol, I'll have to try that one if I'm buying a lot. I've gone in with part numbers a few times but they haven't said anything about.
