Read your article on re-sync of keys.

Had a similar problem with 1999 Laguna keys. Changed the key batteries and the key forgot who it was.
Re-sync is slightly different from yours. There is no plip code to input on this version.
So, all you do is hold down internal lock switch for a few seconds, until red light on dash is steady instead of flashing. You will know you are in re-sync mode because when you release the switch the doors will unlock.
Now plip the keys (at the mirror) 3 times in 30 seconds. The key should now be reprogrammed and work normally.
My key still had the red transmission light working. I am told by my friendly service manager that if you have no key light, you need to take both keys and car to renault dealed to be reprogrammed. They charge min. half hour which is about £45.

This is tranponder keys, this is the later style keys that only plip the doors not disarm the immobiliser.

When the red light doesn't work it means the batteries dead. But renault of course like to charge you a lot to swap the battery.

Very Happy
Chris
I used your info on by-passing my immobiliser recently and managed to start my car and get home - a real relief on a cold and dark night -so thanks for that !

The renault dealers were mostly unhelpful but with your article I did manage to 'persuade' one to give me my 4 digit code and then followed your instructions

The one thing I havent been able to do is re-synch the key which is still not working and means I have to enter the code each time I want to start my car at the moment

Could you explain exactly what to do for key re-synching again

Thanks again[/b]

glad I could be of service!

I also had trouble getting it to re-synch with the key.

But eventually I managed it and this is how you do it.

When you put the final digit in the light goes out comes back on again (i.e. the 30 second interval) press and hold the central locking button again and the doors should lock and unlock, remove the key and plip away at the sensor, in about 3 tries the doors should lock and unlock again.

The trick is to wait for the light to go out then come back on then remove the key and hold the button it should lock then unlock then just plip away at the receiver.

Are the keys batteries ok?

Is the receiver water damaged?
