Just a quick question, lost reverse gear last night on the R19 16V Hatch Ph2, not a gearbox issue, thank god.

What's happened is the pull up ring on the gear lever busted, well the cable thats attached to it snapped!

so can i replace item #1

by unbolting it and pulling it up into the cabin or have i got to drop the whole lot under the car to replace it?

under the car, drop the exhaust and you can leave the central heatshield in but its awkward to get to the back nuts.

I have a full gearlever here if you want it.

Cheers Chris, i just knew you was gonna say its an under the car job, damn car has been jacked up so many times i ought to get a set of hydraulic ones fitted like on the BTCC cars heh.

ah well, gives me a chance to fit the driveshaft and hub whilst its in the air.

I have a spare full gearlever thou thanks Chris, i'll take it off one of the chammys, the two chammys are going to become one car now anyway due to me keep nicking bits off one of them to keep the hatch on the road . .
