I am looking at painting mine and was just wondering, would i need a new gasget and bolts to replace after i have removed it? if so, what sort of price am i looking at for replacements.

..another thing, i was going to spray it black, the only high heat paint my local factors stock, but i seen that the administrator on here, Neil, painted some part of his engine with blue Hammerite, would this be OK to paint the rocker?

...... one more thing, what prep do i need to do to the rocker cover before painting?

cheers for any help chaps..

yeah, get a new gasket, the old one will most likely tear apart as you lift the thing off.

You could use hammerite no problem, but you want to spray it and use the special metals primer beforehand.

BTW my name is Neal, not Neil, and I'm not 'the' administrator Razz

I don't think the rsi's suit colour coding. the 16v yes as its a big cover with flat space, the rsi is quite small and ridges, I think it would be better clean and shiny.

But give it a go, new cam covers are easy and cheap to get, lagunas etc use them as well.
