Hi
I went to start my 19 valve cabrio which has been stood 4 about 12mths and it started ok with a new battery on it but it then started runnig badly low revs,trying to stall,not accellerating like they should do.
i changed the plugs and the rocker gaskett as it was leaking into the plug holder but no different, Any help much appreciated

HT Leads, rotor arm, dizzy cap.
The HT leads may have broken down, try a new set and clean the contacts up inside Dizzy cap or on rotor arm. |

I have a cab as well, I only use it in the summer, so it rests up over winter. The leads will break down after time and need replacing, try cleaning the rotor arm and dizzy cap up before you replace them though |

so you leave the car for a year and expect it to run perfectly staright away?
Some fresh petrol in it will help as will an oil change.
Also the throttle body and idle control valve will need cleaned out. Oily gunk in them will have turned very sticky now.
I wouldn't waste money on leads until i cleaned things out. |

CHEERS CHRIS, ITS HAS HAD AN OIL CHANGE AND 15 QUIDS WORTH OV FRESH JUICE IN IT BUT I HAVE,NT CLEANED OUT THE THROTTLE BODY OUT OR WERE IS THE THE IDLE VALVE SO I CAN CLEAN THAT AS WELL
