Thanks Chris
Had a quick look and took off the plastic (may leave it off).
Look like nuts fall off but you can get them back in by sliding the seat fwd and aft.
Three on the inside to hold the seat belt clip.
On the clios i think you have to get the rail off from under so I had that in mind.
Whish I new this before doing the heater LOL

nuts done fall off, they are welded to the runners. to remove the runners you undo the 413mm nuts.

clios can come off the subframes spereatly like the 19's can btw

Haynes State that to get the seat out of the Clio you undo the out side bolts from inside the car- inside bolts from under. For the 19 they say unscrew the four nuts from under the car, but if you want you can unscrew the seat from the rail. With a nice little drawing to boot.

You see I had the information all the time but could not be assed to look. Just read the bit about the seats on the Clio one day and it got stuck in my fuzzy old brain.

As my Haynes manuals are in French it’s: Sous la voiture, desserrer les quatre écrous de fixation de glissières de siège and all. Now I get a lot of that from the wife. (note the little tick things over the e’s have to go the right way.) Laughing

That’s why it so cool to be able to ask you Chris. Wink

Anyway I never had to get the bloody seats out of the Clio. 1.8 SPI lump in it. Still have scars from changing the starter-motor. And learn on here that the steering column that got lose could have been welded. I got new one from Renault Sad

Yeah it was rammed.
Nice little car, leather seats AC, but no breaks. Rear drums.
Also had a 1.4 RN automatic. Sold it a two years ago when we got the Pug 206.
It's still running well allthough the new owners don't look after it. MOT got the rear breaks, drums so allway's dodgy. Came around one day and asked my advice on a noise from the back. Bearings.
Think it was 1990 so carb not injection.

The starter motor on the 1.8 was a strange one.
Had a small electric motor with a gear box thing on it. Got it to bits and found that the fixed magnets in the motor had been stuck on with glue not with a screw.
The magnets had fallen off jamming the motor.
Took it in for an exchange standard, the guy was looking at it like its jewellery.
Fitted a normal one in its place.
