Mine was just like that 5 minutes ago!

Took it down the bypass at a rapid rate of knotts a couple of times and it's cleared up now.

don't know why it happend, I only changed the plugs and leads.

However this proberbly won't help your situation if youve already given it a good rag.

All I can say is that when I had it (2 months, 3,000 miles) I've never seen it pump out that much steam! Ok, it had a CAT on it then, but I dunno!

If you ask me that's the lot of steam you encounter when its -20c celsius and the car is cold. I would really check plugs. By the look of the steam and the length the steam keeps hanging head might still not be ok?!

ooh that sounds nice Very Happy lol. Mine smokes when I first use it, but not that much. Could it just be that u have a scorpion ( I think) and I have standard renault exhaust? Surely the bigger the exhaust, the more smoke / steam ur gonna get out of it?

I dunno, I really am at a loss to explain things now. Im not sure if its loosing water, i mean the level does go down, but im not sure if thats due to the system pressurising itself?

Well, with the engine cold, i filled it up to the max mark, once the engine started to warm up it went down, didnt seem to come back up either once i'd depressurised it.

Well if u depressurise the system when hot the coolant will be expanded due to temperature and should sit atleast half to 1 cm higher then it was when cold (mostly it will be about 2-3cm higher) If the level drops when warming there is either a s**tload of air in the system (shouldn't make it drop to much), it's leaking or it's drinking(consuming). So when u open the cap the level has to be higher then is was when cold. The level should always rise when the system is ok! When the engine is cooled down (few hours) the level should be the same as it was before you started it to warm it up. (When u opened the cap when it was hot, turn the engine off and check back after few hours it will prob stay a little higher then it was before starting. That's ok)

Haha, yeah I did that, cap flew off followed by a load of water. Its cetrainly not going back up... and it seemed that the further i travelled the worse it got. The pissing out white steam/smoke is an indication that water is getting in somehow? What would that be? (twised or warped head?) or somthing else. It did smoke a fair bit when idling before the gasket change, but not nearly as much. so maybe its somthing else?

You made sure all head bolts are ok and tightened the right way and enough? If so chances indeed are a warped head, it's probably gonna need skimming. Might wait for what chris has to say but if you ask me you're have to take it all off again! I surely wouldn't drive it to york tomorrow if i were you cus you'll prob feck it up only further.

Good luck mate your gonna need it! Confused

thats like the white chamade and its gaskets fine. If you rev it hard enough you can cover people that walk by in manky water.

I say drive it more!

If the gaskets away then for it to go out the exhaust it would also be pressurising the system so the cap would be venting all the time.

You dont reckon 30 miles of driving was enough? You reckon driving itmore would stop it pissing smoke?

just been out to mine, its wet up here so you can't see the steam, only the haze which you can't pic up on the phone.

Water as usual is dripping out of the exhaust though.

Did you put plain water or antifreeze mix in the cooling system?

If anti freeze you can smell it when the smokes there.

Yesi put an antifreeze mix in, the smoke just seeems to smell petroly? If its not the head gasket causing it to piss smoke, then what is? I dont want to take the head off, what else do you suggest? You've seen the video, that can't be normal?
