At me mate's house yesterday putting the final touches on his honda prelude, and we'd finished the engine, got it started etc and thought we'd see how badly the brakes were seazed, and we couldn't move the car under engine power like.....so pretty bad! So we set about jackin up the car, takin the wheels off & sorting the brakes etc. On the last one, we put the wheel back on, started lowering the car and the jack went all sideways & collapsed basically. It felt as tho one of the wheels had come off cuz it went to one side like, but when we took it out afterwards......it looked like this Shocked

A bit worrying innit! Luckily, you don't need to be underneath the car to un-stick brakes, so if it had of fallen, it wouldn't have killed us in the process! But still, certainly makes me think twice about goin under a car again! Admittedly tho, we do usually have axle stands everywhere just incase, like this sorta thing.......

But yeah. Silly of us really, just thinking "ahh we'll be quick on this, won't take long so there's no point in axle stands". Better to be safe than sorry!

Well, not a 'reason' as such, but we know what happened. I didn't really take the right pic to explain it like, but the bar in the pic that is most bent......that broke off and somehow went under the jack, and then had to take some of the weight of the car (hence why it bent) so it's......errr.......a bit of a mystery as to why it happened!
