I’ve been having some slight juddering when pulling away lately, so I decided to test the clutch cable ect. to see if the problem lied there.

The cable seemed fine and moved the selector fork 98% of it’s travel, so I was happy enough with that.

I then took the cable off the selector fork and to my surprise I found the fork slopped all over the place and didn’t have a rubber guard around it either.

I checked the White phase 1’s box and found the selector fork to be solidly in place and have minimal movement by hand. (which is the complete opposite of the phase 2’s)

So, would the fact that there’s no rubber boot on the selector fork cause this extra movement?

If not what could causes this excess movement?

Would this cause my initial problem when pulling away?

yes change it same as what happend to mine and it punched through the pivit point and destroyed my clutch to, it should move a bit freely as it is a kinda floating part, but it will stretch and ware on the pivit point,, be warned lmao

umm yea...? if our not lazy box out and change it, its dead easy to change it, its geting to it first, i had changed the clutch and finished the job when we tested it and found the real prob, the fork, i shapped a piece of metal on another fork i got then i welded the thin slither of metal onto the fork, works a treat now fooking lovely clutch feel, if you like the on, off clutch feel, only bodged it for a weeks work, two weeks on no probs so im gna leave it till it fooks up the change the clutch, fork ,pedal and cable is good if you dont wana take the box out (which is a pain in the a$$)

Not really, when first driven (daily) it crunches from 1st to 2nd gear. Occasionally it grinds from 3rd to 2nd but not that often. If I try to accelerate hard then the judder becomes apparent but only when engaging the clutch but there is no slip of the clutch? With the bonnet up you can see the engine shaking all over when this happens.

it's a shame this happened as she flew through the MOT. I was going to sell her soon as well but now I'm going to have to fix this first.
