well suprise suprise..just had the car resprayed and after months of trouble free motoring it decides to play up..

the problem i am having is its a little slow to start when its hot after been on a drive..it will fire up but is a lil slow to do so?

the other thing is that my radiator fan is not working..but never reaches the temp for it to come on(but i know its not working) because i only use the car twice a week and do about 7miles..anywho back to the problem.. any ideas what it could be are the two linked? just replaced alternator around 2 months ago.

cheers Wink

are you missing a starter heatshiled? You fitted extra earthing?

I have some sand you can use on the engine to help speed up the slow death your causing it.

slow death?? im assuming you are on about the fan not working?

the fans not been working for a total of 6 days..and the car has been driven twice,6miles.

and yes the heatshield is there.

bore wash due to low chamber ttemp, petrol gets into the oil, increases HC's and increases wear a lot.
I hate 1 lady owner low mileage engines, maybe its just cos I have replaced chamshafts that are worn to nothign after 20k due to little trips to the shops.

well, doing short trips from cold will bring down the total number of miles the engine will live, but doing 10 6 mile trips should not wear the engine anymore than 10 50 mile trips, since the first 6 miles of the 50 mile trips will do exactly the same to the engine as the 6 mile trips alone, or is my logic wrong?

50 mile trips will boil off the water and petrol contamination in the oil, 6 mile trips won't
