sooty plugs ?

howdy,my car started to get a bit spluttery
i changed plugs and leads,the old plugs had like a black enamel build up of sh/te around them,
i put new ones in and it runs better,
i only did about 10 miles then checked the plugs again they are covered around the bayonnet/spark area in fresh black soot,
a mate of mine reckons incorrect mixture that should be sorted with a rolling road tune,
the engine is fairly heavily modded ,and the last tune up in the service history was a year and a half ago/16000 miles,so it is due one
do you think this will cure it or is it more serious,
i am desperate to come and play as i missed fcs,was it good,also car is a phase 2 ,phase 1 has moved on,cheers

piper cams,pulleys, belt
superchipped ECU,gas flowed head,cut back valves,piper x,boost valve,de-cat zorst,magnecor leads,platinum plugs
goes well when running nice,graph for 168 bhp,119 lbf-ft torque

plat plugs are shite as well. i won't use them due to issues.

what are your cars running then ladies,stock 135 bhp,thats less than my grans vectra

ok enough bitching,you lot are the so called experts,what mods have you got that would further enhance performance,without spending grands on a car that is at the end of the day a cheap french hatch, and is for the missus to drive

Besides, itâ€™s only for the missus to drive, why bother? Might as well just thrash it around for a bit, neglect it and scrap it when it dies eh?

No, actually, mine has 242 bhp @ the wheels, I know it does cos the guy on ebay I bought it off told me it does, itâ€™s got a K&N air filter and a neddy exhaust you seeâ€¦ big power innit!

i simply asked for advice,when asked what mods it had i replied
got the piss ripped by your members,how should i feel,
as for some bloke on ebay says so,the car has overÂ£4k of receipts from ktec racing,all work carried out late 04,
i got the car for the wife as its a decent 4 door without being boring
i came to this site because it was recommended as freindly and about a community who would like to keep these cars on the road,
instead its full of piss taking chavs,

i also gave a valid answer, plat plugs are shite, i will not use them. Neither will anyone else thats serious with engines.

Fine on a cooking fiesta for your gran, but in performance engines especially turbo'd engines it a no go.
