How about a nice vase and put some flowers in them?

I would personally replace them with other speakers though

is it a 19?

here you can see what i did to mine.. it's in danish, though, so you prolly won't get much of it, but lot's of pictures though.. basically i fitted an Audison SRx3 amp and a Hertz HSK163 3-way set.. speakers were mounted in the original locations to the extent possible, but the tweeters have their own wing mirror housings built by me..
the whole concept was to make it as discrete as possible and not to compromise the usability of the car.. the tweeter housings still need trimming, though.. haven't gotten around to doing that yet..

hope it provides omse inspiration.. otherwise just ask Smile

Wow, that's some nice work!

You sure you're not Engish? Your written English is too good to be foreign. Actually, no... good written English proves you are NOT English Laughing

thanks, neil.. i am indeed danish, so sometimes it's a bit hard to follow whats going on here, if too much slang is involved Wink then i usually just shake my head and go on to the next post Smile

i will try to remember to place another post here when i get the trim done for the tweeters.. the wires seen on the photos have nice connectors and are hidden now, btw...

Thats great, gonna nick that idea then, just wanna get a better range
of sound from the car, i got a pair of Boscherman components in the
front but they dont sound as good as when they were in my Astra.
The Rear speakers are Pioneer 4" 2-ways, but still sound poo. Sad

Yup thats it, have all the sound coming from behind you.

Thats why in concerts everybody faces away from the stage

There's no sub at the back of any cinema auditorium.

so screw you Razz

Rear fill is something you don't want. If you really want speakers for people on the back seat, turn the off when you're alone in the car. The sound should be focused from one point and will be severely affected by rear fill if done the wrong way. In the few cases rear fill helps making a better sound the rear fill should not have tweeters and is preferably mono.

true, true.. rear speakers are not really beneficial for SQ, so if that's what you're after, disconnect/dismount 'em... a sub in the rear/trunk is not perfect, but ok in most cases, though, since frequencies that low aren't very directional anyway (sub-50 hz)..

i chose not to put a sub in mine, so i'll have to live with 50hz+ freq range Wink

hehe i hate ppl who think its all about having the bass in the back of the car, all that does is make the number plate vibrate as well as the other fittings and thats when you get the farting sound you almost always hear on DIY installs.

I worked for years installing sound systems into nightclubs and i'm also a DJ so i know its all about getting a balance of all the frequencies.
A car is not designed aurally, there are too many factors that affect getting a quality sound.
But quality does not seem to be what most ppl want, they just want sheer volume so rear fill, timed firings of the speakers is all wasted as all you're gonna hear is the BASS coming from behind you as most ppl concentrate on getting that as loud as possible.

oooooooooo i've got 4000 watt amps powering my 4000 watt 18 inch sub in the boot and the poor head unit is trying to feed the rest of the speakers with its 35 watts per channel . .
