Normally you press the two black bits together and pull. The black bit is a clip.

Spray it with loads of WD40 and let it soak in. Then try to get it turning in the white bit as Chris told me. Should be able to grab it and pull it out once it starts to turn.

Yep thats a good idea. Also make sure you are pulling it out at the right angle otherwise it will be harder to pull out. Sometimes they need a double handed effort, carefull about cutting your hands on the bulkhead Wink

i recently had the same problem and ended up giving up on it.. its damn right near impossible getting 2 gettings hands down there, i can barely get to it with one.. my biggest problem was that the black clip thing was slippery as hell i think.. there are no metal clips that need to come out like on the ph1's, is there?

My trusty old haynes has the ph 1 pic in it with the metal clip so is pretty useless Rolling Eyes Mine definatly has no metal clips.

Have yet to have a go due to crappy weather on Sunday, so will give it a go later in the week with the WD40

Renault broke mine when they did the clutch (it was on the bill as a new clip).

But mine just pulls out now.

What would make it stick.

If you get a strong bit of string (plastic not the hairy stuff) get a rolling hitch around the top of the black plastic bits and the cable, line it up and you can pull from the top.

it sticks because 2 ally parts are touching each other. They corrode.

The plastic parts are above where it actually slots into the casing.

i bought the plastic bits and also themetal clip arrangment so i could choose which to use.

the metal clip looks easier as it just slides in...but how does it provide a seal i.e. stop crap getting in and oil getting out?
