Reckon I could do it myself Chris? How much work is invovled?

Yes you can and its a piece of piss to do! First pop the bonnet and get a 22mm swan neck spanner and a hex bit (unsure of size) and loosen the nut securing the strut to the top mount. Next get the car up on a pair of axle stands, wheel off. Undo the to bolts holding the strut to the hub, make a note of which way the bolts are facing. Then undo the 2 bolts holding the top mount to the suspension turret, guessing u have power steering so makesure when u put everything back together the bolts must be through the back holes and not the front. Next with your strut free from the car, get some spring compressors on and take all the force of the strut and top mount. Now completely undo and remove the nut, your topmount should now be free. Get hold of a new pair of top mount bearings while ure at it and replace these. As the good old ppl say, refitting is the reversal of removal.

the bit that worried me was when you mentioned spring compressors, I'm worried that'll bounce and take my head off or something!
